Australian tennis icon Ash Barty has welcomed her second child, a baby girl named Jordan.
Barty shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of the newborn and expressing her joy alongside her husband, Garry Kissick.
“Welcome to the world, Jordan,” Barty wrote. “You are loved unconditionally and we are so grateful to have you in our arms, gorgeous girl.”
Jordan is the younger sister of Hayden, who was born in July 2023.
The announcement sparked an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans.
Former doubles partner and fellow Australian tennis star Casey Dellacqua was among the first to respond.
“Hi gorgeous Jordan,” Dellacqua posted. “Can’t wait to cuddle you soon. Good job mum and dad.”
Olympic beach volleyball gold medallist Natalie Cook also shared her excitement, saying her own daughter—also named Jordan—would be thrilled by the name.
Barty surprised the sports world in March 2022 when she announced her retirement from professional tennis. At the time, she said she wanted to focus on giving back to her community and spending more time with her family.
During her celebrated career, Barty reached the world number one ranking and won three major singles titles: the 2019 French Open, Wimbledon in 2021, and the Australian Open in 2022.
