Urgent Recall Issued for Popular Baby Product

by Jessica

A widely used baby teething powder has been urgently recalled amid concerns that glass fragments may be present inside some bottles.

Weleda Australia Pty Ltd has issued a recall for one specific batch of its Weleda Baby Teething Powder 60g, following a customer report of finding a piece of glass in a bottle.

The affected batch is labeled B231302. Authorities believe a packaging fault during production may have led to glass fragments entering multiple bottles from this batch.

According to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), “If glass fragments are present in the powder and applied to an infant’s gums, they could cause discomfort, pain, or minor injury. In more serious cases, there is a risk of choking or internal injury, including damage to the gastrointestinal tract, which may require urgent medical attention.”

No other batches are involved in the recall.

The recalled powder has been sold both online and in physical stores, including major pharmacies such as Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.

Customers are strongly advised to stop using the product immediately. They should return it to the store where it was purchased to receive a refund or replacement.
