Ginger Zee Denies False Rumors Of Leaving ‘Gma’ And Pregnancy

by Jessica

Ginger Zee, the chief meteorologist for ABC News, has responded to false online claims that she is leaving Good Morning America or expecting a third child.

On Tuesday, June 3, Zee addressed the growing speculation on social media. In a Facebook post, she criticized the spread of fake information and the rise of impersonation accounts.

“Fake profiles, false stories about me leaving my job, being pregnant, and even going into war zones… this platform seems to be rapidly spiraling down,” Zee wrote. “Is there a way we can make this better and get real info shared as much as the fake stuff?”

Zee, 44, is not reporting from war zones and has not announced a third pregnancy. She and her husband, Ben Aaron, share two sons—Adrian and Miles.

Despite rumors, Zee recently appeared in a promotional video titled Coming Home, which premiered on June 3. The segment celebrates GMA as it approaches its 50th anniversary in November, reinforcing Zee’s commitment to the show.

In a recent interview with USA TODAY’s The Essentials, Zee spoke about her early-morning routine. “I can’t imagine having a leisurely morning,” she said. “But I take it, and I make 3:45 a.m. feel as leisurely as possible.”

The bestselling author of Natural Disaster and A Little Closer to Home also opened up about dealing with online negativity. She shared that she tries to approach criticism with empathy.

“It usually says a lot about who they are and what’s wrong with them,” Zee said. “I have empathy for these people who are so sad, or they need to get that out. And I take it that way, and it’s much easier to take when you start seeing that.”

Zee recalled a harsh comment left on Instagram in March. One user wrote, “You’re not aging well.”

Her response was thoughtful. “My first reaction was, ‘Thank God, I get to get older,’” she said. “There were a lot of years in my teens and 20s where I wondered if I was even worth it. I’m so lucky to be alive, let alone aging. Your opinion is that I’m not aging well, but the point is—I’m aging. And I really meant that. It is a privilege to be aging.”

Through her message, Ginger Zee reaffirmed her gratitude for life, her role at GMA, and her ability to rise above harmful social media rumors.
