Olivia Culpo is shedding light on the less glamorous side of pregnancy.
The 33-year-old model and former Miss Universe, who is expecting her first child with NFL star husband Christian McCaffrey, recently gave fans an honest update about her pregnancy experience.
In a TikTok video posted on May 26, Olivia is seen lounging in a chair while eating a burrito. She captioned the clip with humor, writing, “Watching hot girl summer pass by… as I Google ‘can ankles explode?’” The post was also labeled, “She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s Googling ankle explosion rates.”
Though she appeared stylish in a bikini top, cream cardigan, matching shorts, gold hoop earrings, and brown sunglasses, her growing baby bump took center stage. In a follow-up Instagram Story, she gently held her belly and wrote, “Still growingggg.”
Since announcing her pregnancy in March, Olivia has kept fans updated on her journey. However, one detail she hasn’t shared is the baby’s gender—and that’s intentional.
Speaking with E! News in March, Olivia explained that she doesn’t want to know the baby’s sex before birth. “Being healthy—that’s all you can ask for,” she said. “That’s part of why I’m not finding out the gender. I feel like my job is to be as healthy and mindful as I possibly can.”
Christian McCaffrey, her husband and San Francisco 49ers running back, has a different view. Olivia revealed that he “goes back and forth” about wanting to know the baby’s sex. Still, she hopes to convince him that waiting would be more exciting. “I think I will maybe convince him that it would be really fun to wait. It would be such a nice surprise,” she said.
As she prepares for motherhood, Olivia is taking a practical approach. She’s watched her sister, Aurora Culpo, and brother, Pete Culpo, raise their own children. That experience has shaped her mindset.
“I have a lot of siblings who have had babies,” she shared. “And I know better by now to understand that it’s a different situation when you’re physically in it. You never know what you’re going to need, what your child’s going to need, or what will feel right.”
